Zu der künstlerischen Arbeit von Eva Sjödahl-Essén

Born in Stockholm, Sjödahl-Essén grew up by the water, by the sea, between lake Mälaren and the Baltic Sea. She abstracts her experienced or imagined representational motivs to varying extents, but always remains closely attached to them, even in a state of advanced simplification. The experience of an invented landscape liberates all perceptions. What remains is a deep sense of meaning inherent to the depiction of nature and of wonder awakened by the creative imagination of the artist.
